The project is located on a full city block in Fredericksburg, Texas, bounded by South Milam, West Ufer, Plum, and Fulton Streets. Measuring 300 ft. x 730 ft. (approximately 5 acres), the site is in the heart of the Fredericksburg National Historic Landmark District, a region renowned for its rich German-Texas heritage, vernacular architecture, and walkable urban environment. This location offers a unique opportunity to create a tiny home community focused on mindfulness, honoring the district's historic character and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Its proximity to downtown and the area's natural and tourist attractions facilitates accessibility and ecological integration.
Concept Statement:
The Mindful Block is a wellness-focused residence located in Fredericksburg's historic district. Inspired by the city's heritage, the project prioritizes holistic health and community living through integrated architecture that fosters connection and ecological awareness.
The design centers on a unified structure that combines compact private residences with shared spaces for eating, creating, and reflecting. Sensory gardens, art studios, and gathering areas are integrated into the building's core, encouraging creativity and connection.

This tiny house community is designed for individuals and families seeking a slower lifestyle rooted in wellness, and connection. The development welcomes those who valu walkability, shared green spaces, and people drawn to Fredericksburg’s cultural richness and natural beauty.
